Slow But Steady
Several weeks ago I had the bright idea to attend Adepticon to play in their 40k team tournament. The idea required a new army, so it was expensive, time consuming, and difficult to pull off. What's not to like? Well, the team itself had growing pains, and even now is in danger of loosing a key member, although I suppose we're all key when you have four players for a four man team. The army has been bought, and is 80% assembled, and about 15% painted. Once construction is complete we will begin playtesting against some of the other armies owned by other Team Snake Eyes members. We've taken plenty of pictures, but they're all lousy so you're not looking at any of them right now. I have made a few promises to show some pictures, however, so when we're done painting those models you'll have a chance to look them over - bad pictures or otherwise.
What have I enjoyed most about this process? The process itself naturally. Four friends have gotten together and collaborated on a hobby they all enjoy. It's easy to come up with excuses for why "the guys" can't get together, but having the opportunity to regularly get together and visit with each other while working on this army has been a pleasure. I cannot, however, say my wife has been as pleased due to my frequent absences and the total take over of our kitchen table by 4000 points of Salamander Space Marines.
That's all for now. Sorry for such a lame update, but people don't really read this thing anyway (yes, I realize they might if I actually posted any content). I promise to practice my picture taking so you can see some of the cool things we're doing.
